Using the QCA Schemes of work - years 3 and 4

Through active methods and physical response children feel safe to explore and experiment with the new sounds. For those who prefer to listen and observe, they absorb the new language by watching others and gradually increase in confidence, until they too are joining in, responding to what they hear and see and engaging with others in short conversations and role-play.

Veg part 1

This extract shows a Year 4 class using the QCA scheme of work Unit 6 as a basis for their own work. The class has devised a song with actions to practise words for the vegetables they have learned. This leads to a discussion about indefinite and definite articles, singular and plural in French and English. The work links with the QCA Unit 6 Ça pousse!
