When choosing resources, reviews written by
independent sources are useful guides for assessing the
quality of the product, its aims and purposes. Review writers
may have different circumstances or requirements to yours so
consider their views as part of your own evaluation.

Journals
The Association for Language Learning publishes the following
language teaching journals: Francophonie, Deutsch: Lehren und
Lernen, Vida Hispánica, Tuttitalia and Rusistika. Articles include
reviews of new publications for that language. You can read ALL
Journals in the CILT Resources Library.
Education
Guardian
Weekly education supplement (Tuesdays)
includes occasional resource reviews for primary languages.
Schoolzone
Independent service offering reviews of
educational software - written by UK teachers having undergone
training in software evaluation.
Teachers Evaluating Educational
Multimedia (TEEM)
Independent
reviews of educational software from trained TEEM evaluators - all
classroom teachers. Reviews also published in a hardcopy directory,
available to order through Local Authorities. Information on
submitting resources for evaluation and becoming an evaluator.
Teachers TV
Internet
and Freeview television channel for teachers, operated by
independent media consortium chosen by DCSF. Resource Review
programmes: selected resources for a range Key Stages and subjects
including primary languages, discussed by a panel of education
experts.
TES Resource Hub
A bank
of resources and reviews from Times Educational Supplement. TES web
team reviews of commercially published materials, submitted for
evaluation via site. Users can comment on these and any
teacher-made resources uploaded to the site.
