TDA primary CPD materials
Pilot primary CPD course materials aimed at
teachers wishing to learn how to teach French, German and Spanish
to primary age pupils. This course was developed in 2004 by
the
TDA
, in
cooperation with other key partners, and funded by the
DCSF (Department for
Children Schools and Families, now DfE, Department for
Education)
.
There are a total of 12 sessions, each
containing a number of activities -some for trainers to
lead, some for teachers to work on in groups and
some for teachers to adapt and use in their own classrooms. You can

primary schools. Produced by the Department for Children Schools
and Families, now DfE, Department for Education) as part
of the National Languages Strategy. This envisages
teaching assistants, including native speakers from local
communities, playing an important role in the delivery of primary
languages.
This course offers a 20 hour introduction to
primary language teaching divided into seven sessions. It is
designed for LAs and other providers of teaching assistant training
to equip participants with some basic principles underpinning good
practice.

An online CPD environment to support the National
Strategies for Key Stage 3. The MFL interactive resource comprises
a suite of online modules for MFL practitioners with guidance on
planning and teaching and support for professional development.
The modules are organised into four
categories: planning, subject pedagogy, generic pedagogy and
whole-school issues.
