Spring
Finding out about the lives of others and building
friendships across cultures is what makes language learning real
and exciting, but what does it really look like in the primary
classroom? This one-day course on 16 March
2011 looks in depth at the concept of Intercultural
Understanding in the primary school. The course provides an
opportunity for all involved in teaching primary languages to
explore the learning objectives and teaching activities in the Key
Stage 2 Framework for languages, to share ideas and to leave with a
host of inspiring ideas for the classroom. Find

Developing Reading and Writing - Spring
Reading and writing in the new
language can be lots of fun as well as being both challenging and
motivating for all learners. In this one-day CPD course on
23 March 2011 you’ll have the opportunity to explore a host of
ideas and activities for teaching literacy skills in a new language
to young learners across Key Stage 2. There will be examples of
work around a range of text types, from picture books to poems,
from adverts to fact files, and a range of activities from
teacher-led to independent and from whole class to paired work.
