Here you can find the key research and
statistics relating to primary languages and education. These
include CILT projects, DCSF-commissioned studies, surveys,
consultations and action research, both ongoing and complete.
Research and statistics contribute to the
development of good primary practice by helping us to identify and
understand factors associated with successful teaching and learning
and by enabling us to measure and respond to trends.
CILT is committed to supporting
research. In particular we aim to:
- Bring researchers and practitioners into closer contact with
each other, so that each benefits from the other's expertise both
face-to-face and on-line through electronic discussion groups
- Disseminate the results of research relating to languages
education through conferences, publications and the Web
- Encourage teachers to be involved in action research projects
in their own classrooms
- Provide facilities for researchers through the CILT
Library
