The Our Languages project is running an e-conference for primary
and secondary school pupils for the whole of next week to celebrate
Who Do We Think We Are? week (22nd June
to 3rd July): www.ourlanguages.org.uk/partner-schools/e-conference
This is a great chance for children and young
people to have their say about identity, community and diversity.
The week-long e-conference is open to anyone at primary, secondary
or sixth form level, and will be of particular interest to
plurilingual pupils.
Pupils taking part will be asked to consider
six questions, and join in an online discussion with other young
people from a diverse range of educational and ethnic backgrounds.
Some questions will be based on identity (How is your identity
different from that of your grandparents?) whilst others will be
more language-focussed (If you were famous, how would you use your
languages to make the world a better place?).
