CILT’s library team has scooped a silver at the
CILIP Publicity and Public Relations Group (PPRG) Marketing
Excellence Awards.
The PPRG award acknowledged the excellent and innovative work
that CILT has been doing on its ‘Friends and Fans of the CILT
Resources Library’ programme, which has reversed the decline in
numbers of library visitors.
The judges highly commended a whole range of the project’s
initiatives which included a loyalty card, periodical newsletters,
a library book group and innovative use of social networking sites.
They were particularly impressed that all this was done on a budget
of just £500!
Ruth Churchill, who received the award on behalf of CILT, said:
“We are very proud that the CILT Library has been recognised as
being such a dynamic place where people not only come to research,
seek support and keep up to date with resources, but also to be
part of a community of language teachers and learners.”
