With a record number of primary
schools now teaching a language at KS2, it’s more important than
ever to ensure a smooth transition in languages from primary to
secondary schools. The CILT National 7-14 Transition Conference
explores these challenges and puts forward some potential
solutions.
This one day conference is a chance to learn
from Phase 2 of the innovative 7–14 Transition Project run by CILT
and the DfE. It also explores the findings of the KS3 Dissemination
and Development project, where many Strategic Learning Networks
(SLNs) focused on issues surrounding transition and
progression.
A wide range of sessions and workshops explore
meaningful links between KS2 and KS3, transition within and across
key stages, innovation and inspiration, good practice, high quality
teaching and pupil achievement.
